tour today

took a tour of art center today... that place is way more awesome than i was expecting. basically everywhere in that place exudes inspiring art, and not just "pretty things," but things with solid and well thought out concepts that can be applied to the real world. great galleries, crazy machines that allow you to work with almost any kind of material (they even have a materials lab where you can look through swatches of different kinds of acrylic, metals, woods, etc. etc.), a huge art library, suuUUUUper interesting classes and subject matter and projects, etc. etc. etc. and such a cool campus/facility. but the greatest part was just the atmosphere of the place -- people there seem to be in a constant cycle of inspiring and being inspired, creating and critiquing, improving and to use a cliche, really "thinking outside the box." it seems like a place that i'd really excel in.. more motivation to do well on this portfolio along with the fact that the end of the month is fast approaching. super work time. no excuses. get scholarship. grad school. pls.
